Forklift Training Courses
By law, all forklift operators must be trained and deemed competent to operate safely in the workplace. At Tyler Training, our comprehensive forklift courses ensure full compliance with UK regulations while promoting a safer, more efficient work environment. We offer a wide range of training tailored to different experience levels and industries:
Novice – For those new to forklift operation, covering all essential skills from the ground up.
Experienced – Designed to formalise skills and improve safety for those with hands-on experience but no certification.
Conversion – Ideal for certified operators looking to qualify on additional types of forklift trucks.
Refresher – Keeps qualified operators up to date with current safety practices and legal requirements.
Whatever your training needs, we’ll help you stay compliant, confident, and capable.
All forklift training courses cover essential safety topics to ensure operators meet UK legal requirements and workplace standards. This includes:
Safe and efficient operation techniques
Pre-use inspections and maintenance checks
Causes of truck and load instability
Operator responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974
Proper authorisation and reporting procedures
No matter the machine type, Tyler Training ensures your team is trained, confident, and compliant.
Counterbalance Forklift Training
Counterbalance forklifts are among the most commonly used machines across UK industries, available in sizes from 1 to 15 tonnes and powered by electric, gas, or diesel. Our training covers all machine types (B1 to B3) and can be delivered on your site, allowing operators to train with the exact equipment they’ll be using in familiar surroundings.
Reach Forklift Training
Ideal for warehouse environments with narrow aisles and high racking, Reach trucks are compact, agile, and capable of impressive lift heights. Our training ensures operators can handle these machines safely and efficiently, with a focus on pre-use checks, risk awareness, and control in tight spaces.
Telescopic Materials Handler (Telehandler) Training
Used widely in construction and industrial sectors, Telehandlers are versatile machines designed for lifting heavy loads at height. Our training (J1, J2, J3 categories) covers safe operation, load handling, and causes of instability, delivered either on-site or at our centre, with certification to RTITB, NPORS, or in-house standards.
Pallet Truck Training
Pallet Lift Trucks are commonly used in retail, warehousing, and manufacturing to move loads efficiently. We offer training for both manual (A1) and powered (A2, Z1) types, focusing on safe operation, pre-use inspections, and proper load handling for short- and long-distance use.
Pivot Steer (Articulated/Bendi) Forklift Training
Pivot Steer trucks are increasingly used in warehouses due to their tight turning capability and narrow aisle performance. Our training (P1 & P2 categories) ensures operators can safely manoeuvre these specialist trucks, while understanding key safety risks and stability principles.
Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) Forklift Training
VNA trucks are built for maximum space efficiency in warehouse storage, operating in tight aisles with either man-up or man-down controls. We train operators (F1 & F2 categories) in load handling at height, turret or pivoting fork usage, and safe working practices in confined spaces.
Order Picker Forklift Training
Order Pickers lift both the operator and load, making them essential in fast-paced fulfilment environments. Our training (E1 & E2 categories) covers high-level picking techniques, safe lifting practices, and effective navigation of warehouse racking systems.
Multi Directional Forklift Training
Perfect for long or bulky loads, Multi Directional trucks can move in all directions, offering maximum control in restricted spaces. Training (M1, M2, M3 categories) focuses on precise handling, stability, and safe use in tight warehouse or industrial environments.
Rough Terrain Masted Forklift Training
Designed for outdoor use on construction sites or farms, Rough Terrain forklifts (J1 category) are built for uneven ground. Our training equips operators with the skills to maintain stability, handle rough surfaces, and manage heavy loads safely.
